Important changes:
- As for "Documents concerning defraying expenses for COE", the amount students have to cover during stay in Japan changes from 80,000JPY/month to 120,000JPY/month. (It means amount must be more than 1,440,000JPY/year or 720,000JPY/semester.)
We had been using the standard of 80,000JPY/month or more for a long time, but after reviewing past cases and data on prices, we have determined that 80,000 yen is currently not enough to live in Japan. It is expected that a realistically sufficient amount of money will be stated at the time of application to ensure that residency status will be granted (we also confirmed that 120,000JPY/month was the same amount of the scholarship for the government-financed international students as the cost of living per month).

The UNAM Foreigners' Education Centre (CEPE) offers an online preparation course to present the SIELE. The course will be held from 11 to 14 September, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. (Mexico City time). For MA and PhD students: Language certificates issued by MSU language departments are allowed. Academic calendar Course offer in English Health insurance: Insurance is not available through our insitution. Medical and Travel Insurance Policy is mandatory before travelling to Mexico for studying at UNAM. It must be valid during the complete length of stay in Mexico and must cover accidents, medical attention/services, major health expenses and repatriation of remains.
