Financial conditions of participation: candidates can apply for governmental scholarship. More information on scholarship available here.
Language: Students must document their English language proficiency according to the following guidelines, a certificate of proficiency in English provided by MSU is not accepted.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):
  • minimum score of 90 points on the internet based test
  • minimum score of 600 points on the paper based test
IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)
  • Academic test with a minimum overall band score of 6.5
Please note that we do not accept TOEIC-tests or TOEFL MyBest scores.
The deadline for uploading language requirement documentation is: February 1 for non-EU/EEA applicants.
Academic calendar: the academic year is divided into two semesters, autumn and spring.
  • Autumn semester: Mid-August – Mid/late December
  • Spring semester: Early January – Early June

Health insurance: Please note that NTNU does not cover any insurance for incoming exchange students. Students should make sure to take out their own insurance (health, travel etc.) for their stay in Norway with an insurance company in their home country prior to leaving for Norway.
