OUTGOING ACADEMIC MOBILITY
WHO CAN TAKE PART IN INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY PROGRAM
Any MSU student can take part in competitive admission to study abroad for a semester or a year in one of the partner universities:

  • Students of Bachelor and Specialist programs can study abroad starting from the 5th semester (third year of study);

  • Students of Master programs – in the 2nd or 3rd semesters.

Students’ grades and credits for the disciplines studied at the partner university are transferred to their credit record at MSU. Thus, while studying abroad, students continue to complete the curricula of their educational programs at Moscow State University.

The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives offers scholarships for graduate students and young scholars of all fields from France, Great Britain, the USA, and the successor states of the Soviet Union who want to study at Berlin universities or use research facilities in Berlin.


The foundation will award fifteen grants for the academic year 2022/23. The grants amount to 1,100 EUR for graduate and doctoral students; and 1,630 EUR for post-doctoral scholars per month.

Aoyama Gakuin University online program "Japanese Culture Box"

Realizing that due to the difficult epidemiological situation, not everyone has an opportunity to study abroad, Aoyama Gakuin University (Tokyo, Japan) invites students of partner universities to participate in the "Japanese Culture Box" online program. This program consists of a series of video lectures on various topics related to Japanese culture. The topics presented in the program are similar to the topics that students at Aoyama Gakuin School Corporation learn (in English). There are also lectures provided by Japanese companies available in this program. Participants can study them on their own pace and seek advice from tutors. The program is free-of-charge.

WHAT STEPS SHOULD I TAKE TO TAKE PART IN ACADEMIC MOBILITY PROGRAM WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF INTER-UNIVERSITY AGREEMENT?
Step 1. Review the catalogue
Review the catalogue of the mobility programs. Please study the catalogue carefully, paying attention to the fields of study, financial conditions for participation in mobility programs, and language proficiency requirements.
Step 2. Prepare the documents
Prepare the following documents:

1. Recommendation letter from sending faculty signed by the deputy dean or dean (in Russian);

2. CV with personal contacts (in Russian and in the language of instruction in host university);

3. Motivation letter (in Russian and in the language of instruction in host university);

4. Letter of recommendation from academic director (for junior classes – from teaching professor) in Russian and in the language of instruction in host university;

5. International certificate (at least, a recommendation letter from the Faculty or from the department of foreign languages) confirming the level of knowledge of the language of instruction in host university;

6. For Bachelor students: Copy of student mark book, sealed and signed by the representative of the Faculty (in Russian); for Master students: copy of diploma and copy of student mark book for the period of study at Master's program, sealed and signed by the representative of the Faculty (in Russian);

7. For postgraduate students: letter of acceptance / invitation from partner university (in English or in the language of the country of destination, and translation of this document into Russian).
Step 3. Submit the application form


Step 4. Take part in the competition
All applications submitted on time will participate in the competition, which consists of two stages:

First stage: Competition of submitted documents: based on the results of the first stage, the most successful candidates will be invited to pass the second stage (interview);

Second stage: Interview in Russian and in the language of instruction in the host university with the competition commission (consisting of a representative of the faculty, a mobility coordinator and, in some cases, a representative of the host university), which, based on the submitted documents and interview, decides on sending the student to a foreign partner university.
